The short version. We collect only what we need to sell you the book, run The Equity Game™ and tell you about programs you asked to hear about. We don't sell your data. You can ask us to see, correct or delete it at any time by writing to hello@ernestoluciano.com.

This website, theequitymethod.com (previously at ernestoluciano.com), and The Equity Game™ are operated by The Equity Method Technologies, Trader License No. 1656745, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: hello@ernestoluciano.com.
What we collect, and why
When you buy a book or download the free edition
Payments and downloads are handled by Gumroad. Gumroad collects your name, email address, payment details and country to process the order and deliver the file. We receive your name, email address, what you bought and your purchase details. We never see or store your full card number. We use this to deliver your purchase, send your Equity Game™ Pro code, handle refunds and answer your questions.
When you buy on Amazon or Google Play
Kindle, paperback and Google Play Books editions are sold by those stores under their own privacy policies. They don't share your name, email address or payment details with us. If you bought the paperback and email us your purchase receipt to get your Equity Game™ Pro code, we use the receipt only to confirm the purchase and send you the code.
When you join the waitlist
The waitlist forms on our home page and our talks page ask for your name, email address, role, city and country, and which programs interest you. We also record how you reached the page (for example, a campaign link or the website that referred you) and which page you signed up on. We use this to tell you when workshops, talks, coaching, team training or trainer certification open, and to understand which programs people want. We only email you about these programs.
When you request a talk, workshop or team training
The booking form on our talks page asks for your name, email address, company or event, the format you want, the audience size, a preferred date, the city or whether it will be online, and anything else you choose to tell us. We also record how you reached the page. We use this only to reply to your request, arrange a call and send you a proposal.
When you play The Equity Game™
To save your progress across devices, the game needs an account. We collect:
- Account details: your name and email address, or the basic profile Google shares with us if you sign in with Google. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
- Game data: your levels, stars, cards, experience points, settings, your Playbook entries and the results of your games.
- Pro access: whether you have Pro, the code you used to unlock it and, for codes bought on Gumroad, the related sale reference. When you enter a Gumroad code, the game checks it directly with Gumroad to confirm it is valid, unused and not refunded.

If you email us or message us on WhatsApp or Instagram, we keep the conversation so we can reply and follow up.
Advertising in the free version of the game
The free version of The Equity Game™ may show ads from Google AdSense. Players with Pro never see ads, and the ad code is not loaded for them. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure them, and, where you allow it, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.
Where the law requires your consent, a consent message appears before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time through the "Privacy and cookie settings" link at the bottom of the game's home screen. You can also manage Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and read how Google uses data from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies and browser storage
The book pages use no advertising or analytics cookies. Our fonts are served from our own website, so loading a page does not send your data to a font provider.
- The Equity Game™ stores your sign-in session and a copy of your progress in your browser, so you stay logged in and the game works on slow connections.
- Gumroad sets its own cookies when you open the checkout.
- Google AdSense may set cookies in the free version of the game, as described above.
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. If you do, you will need to sign in to the game again.
Who processes your data for us
We use a small number of service providers. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job.

These providers may store and process data outside the United Arab Emirates, including in the United States and the European Union. We rely on their contractual commitments and security measures to protect it.
We don't sell or rent your personal data. We will only share it with anyone else if the law requires us to, or to protect our rights in a dispute.
How long we keep it
- Purchases: for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and refund purposes.
- Waitlist: until the programs you asked about open and we've told you, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
- Booking requests: for as long as we are discussing or delivering the session, and afterwards for as long as we need them for accounting and our business relationship.
- Game account: for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your account and game data.
- Messages: for as long as we need them to help you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and, for people in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data, including your game account;
- stop contacting you, or stop using your data for a particular purpose;
- send your data to you or to another service in a common format.
Email hello@ernestoluciano.com from the address linked to your data and tell us what you need. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Security
Your data travels over encrypted connections. Payments are handled entirely by Gumroad, and passwords by Firebase Authentication. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you.
Children
Our products are made for adults working in or learning sales. They are not directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Links to other websites
Our pages and books link to Gumroad, Amazon, Google Play, Instagram, WhatsApp and Google. Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply when you use them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the game before it takes effect.
